About us
CERISOL is a technical expert manufacturer of state-of-the-art porcelain insulators for substations, disconnectors, bushing and transformers (hollow insulators) and insulators for railway applications. These were further developed in-house, allowing production of high-quality products with efficient designs, tightest tolerances and shorter lead times for applications up to 800 kV AC and up to 500kV DC.

Brief History
Focus on the future capitalizing the experience from the past.
Cerisol is focused on the future without forgetting the past, all the history and the experience gather for more than 100 years.
The company was founded in 1912 with the aim of producing a very diversified mix of electrical appliance of low voltage products for home usage. Progressively the company increased its portfolio of products to become a supplier of products for the industry such as cap and pin porcelain insulators for the Portuguese grid.
In 1967 the first IEC outdoor post insulator was manufactured for a voltage level of 66kV. With the increase of opportunities in the 70’s and 80’s in Portugal and abroad associated with a strong development of the product portfolio namely outdoor post insulators, hollow insulators and insulators for railway applications, a spin-off company from the Electro-Cerâmica group in 1989 was officially created as Cerisol.
In 2004 a new stage began to Cerisol when it was acquired by a new group of shareholders. In the following decade (2011) Cerisol moved to a new plant in Serzedo, V.N. de Gaia, boosting the manufacturing capacity, mainly focus on porcelain post insulator up to 800kV.
